The Hoover “Exec Sled”

Introduced in 1936 for commercial transportation, the DC-3 is best known for its role in WWII and after. After the war hundreds of C-47 became civilian again seeing service in every conceivable use. The “Hover Exec Sled” is one of the more unique examples still flying today. When I photographed it, it was in the stewardship (as the owners put it) of folks prior to its acquisition by the CAF. Once that ownership transfer was complete a complete background history was conducted showing that this crazy looking plane is probably the most historic WWII vet still flying the skies today!
