The F7F Tigercat was the first twin engine fighter for the Navy. After service, many were put to work fighting fires and very effective in that roll. Rolling back the clock, Lewis took his F7F-3P, La Patrona back to the beginning, back to the prototype days when he took it to a bare metal look. For easy of maintenance it’s painted bare metal rather than actually bare metal, but it’s just like the two prototypes that rolled out of the Grumman Factory in 1943. Though the first version was not a 3P, unless on top of the Tigercat, you wouldn’t know the difference.
